Jason - my plan is to read through the entire book a couple of times this week to get the big picture fresh in my head. I'm looking forward to learning with you and getting diced up by the Word (Heb 4:12).

Yeah. This was excellent. We need to keep the momentum. Imagine the difference that could be made in communities and peoples lives if more belivers mobilized their faith.

First - the verse is made up of four separate statements - try memorizing one statement at a time.

Two things have helped me know "how" to abide.

You can't have "abiding" without communication; honest, transparent, heartfelt and sincere two-way interaction. God uses language to communicate. Our prayers should be both expressive and listening ... to God's promptings, Word (logos), word (rhema).

Also, if we truly are remaining in Christ we'll be in obedience to His commands and directives. Taking every thought captive, using speech to build others up, doing the "one another" verses, being the hands, feet and voice of Christ.

So for me, I would say that throughout each day and week I have moments of abiding and moments of not. I'm grateful the vine never leaves or forsakes the branch!
