I'll start...

Last night a few things were pointed out to a group of us...

First - the verse is made up of four separate statements - try memorizing one statement at a time.

Bible Memorization:: John 15:5 (February Verse)
Two things have helped me know "how" to abide.

You can't have "abiding" without communication; honest, transparent, heartfelt and sincere two-way interaction. God uses language to communicate. Our prayers should be both expressive and listening ... to God's promptings, Word (logos), word (rhema).

Also, if we truly are remaining in Christ we'll be in obedience to His commands and directives. Taking every thought captive, using speech to build others up, doing the "one another" verses, being the hands, feet and voice of Christ.

So for me, I would say that throughout each day and week I have moments of abiding and moments of not. I'm grateful the vine never leaves or forsakes the branch!

What is meditating? We speak to God, pray to God and talk to God. When we meditate are we talking to ourselves or are we communing with God?

DivorceCare Seminar - "Surviving the Holidays" - Manassas Prince William County Virginia VA [by Visitor]

Life at Evergreen:: DivorceCare Seminar - "Surviving the Holidays" - Manassas Prince William County Virginia VA
Dear Friend:
.
No matter what the circumstances, divorce is a painful process for most people. We want to let you know about a special two-hour seminar we're sponsoring to help people face the holidays after a separation or divorce. "DivorceCare: Surviving the Holidays" will be held Thursday, December 18, 2008, 6:30-8:30pm, at the George Mason University Campus, 10900 University Blvd, Manassas, VA. Childcare is provided.
.
The seminar features practical suggestions, guidance and reassurance through video interviews with counselors, experts in divorce-related care, and people who have experienced the holidays after separation or divorce.
.
You'll discover...
.
-What emotions to expect during the coming days
-What to do about family traditions
-How to handle awkward moments at holiday events
-How to help your children, and
-Where to find comfort, strength and hope in a seemingly hopeless time.
.
There is no charge to attend, and those who attend will receive a free book with over 30 daily readings providing additional insights and ideas on holiday survival.
.
Or goal is not to get you to come to our church, to request money or to sell you anything. We understand how deeply people and families are hurt by divorce, and we simply wanted you to know about our upcoming seminar.
.
Please email straighttosteve@aol.com, or call 571-332-1737, to RSVP and get exact meeting location. We welcome the opportunity to meet you.
