MISSION [im]POSSIBLE
Part 3 - Beginnings (Feb 19, 2012)Speaker : Dave Blum
We should all desire to become great in the Kingdom of Heaven. In fact, the disciples asked Jesus who among them was the greatest and his reply clarified what greatness is without rebuking them for their desire to be great (Matthew 18:1-4; Luke 22:24-30).
We invite you to join us in February and March while we explore principles from the Book of Ezra on becoming great in the Kingdom of Heaven. The Ezra story begins with a decree from a Persian king to allow all of the exiled Israelites to return home to Jerusalem and rebuild their temple and city for the worship of their God, Jehovah. So, in 538 BC they venture out of their comfort zones and back to their homeland. As the story unfolds, the book of Ezra captures the faith, courage and determination of people who want to become great for God. It also is honest about their weaknesses, struggles and shortcomings. It is a story about God's faithfulness and provision, even in the midst of opposition. It is a story about ordinary people (like you and me) who count the cost and do great things for God and His Kingdom.
We invite you to join us on our journey toward true and Christ-centered greatness!
